Camping!!!

Yes it is true...a long weekend arrives & we all go bush!!! We packed up the kids & the camping gear & took off for the Watagan Mountains. It was bliss!!!!!!!!! No phones,no hassles (they happened when I got home & read email!) just pure unadulterated bliss!!! Let me recap the weekend for your reading pleasure LOL

Saturday morning was spent running around the house organising the family into packign their clothes as well as sleeping bags etc & departing around the 1pm mark. We met up with our friends down at Freemans Waterhole where I managed to snag some old Home Journal magazines for $1 each from a fella there (yep was still thinking of scrapping) We left Freemans at around 2pm & made our way to the Watagans again. Yes it is the scene of our 4wd adventures last weekend but let me just say this was way better cos I actually drove for some of the 4wding! More about that later.

Once we arrived at the camp grounds, we all set up camp...there were 5 tent loads of us & 11 kids in total! So yep was fairly full on. I took my camera which is always a good thing. After sey up we went for a bit of a drive & checked out some more tracks.

Sunday dawned bright & early with me having a sore back cos the mattress was crappy for sleeping LOL. Pancakes,bacon & eggs.cereal you name it we had it on the menu for brekky. When we go camping we tend to do it with style. I mean we even had a Lamb Roast with baked vegies courtesy of Troy's trusty camp oven.....was divine!!!! Anyway, Sunday we went out 4wding in the afternoon as The Kiems had to run back into Cessnock for their oldest daughter's soccer day. I went for the drive as I needed to get a few forgotten things from in town. We arrived back at camp around 1.30pm when we had some lunch & packed up to go 4wding. Now anyone who knows me, I normally jump into the car camera bag in hand...not this time!! Totally forgot it. The one time I forget it & they do some hairy crap!!! BUGGER!!! Poor Steve literally fell down a mountain side...not too far no real damage other cuts & a bruised & battered ego.

Back to camp to cook our yummy Roast Lamb & vegies after which some of the guys went for a night run. I elected to stay at camp as I was buggered & Jess had gone to sleep early. No sweat, I got to relax by the fire in silence.....everyone else had gone *sigh* BLISS.

Today dawned early as it was our last day out & we wanted to get some more 4wding in. I actually elected to drive...which is a shock in itself as I normally balk at the whole idea of driving when we are out like that. Let me say I will be voilunteering everytime now LMAO. I LOVED IT!! Flying along the dirt tracks, climbing up inclines that are covered in rocks & dips. Bring it on baby! The only incline I piked out on was the one where the boys had gone down last week...this week we attacked it from the bottom. The Mad Maniac Mick had another crack at it LOL...still needed the winch to get out though..too funny! Jess was in Troy's car when he climbed it & I can now say my daughter is an adrenaline junkie.....she kept screaming for more LOL!

After the 4wding portion of our day we went back to camp & packed up all our crap & made for Borderhouse Dam for a bite of lunch & the kids wanted to swim *insert evil laugh* We kept tellign them it was freezing cold in the water & they would not believe us....they found out first hand just how bloody cold it is. Once they had enough & I managed to get some family happy snaps...off we went..headed for home.

We arrived back here at our place just after 3.30pm this afternoon & unpacked the car. Once that was done & the kids were in the bath..I laid on the lounge to vege for a bit with the tv on for some noise....I woke again at 6pm LMAO.

I managed to eat some dinner & decided to upload the photos onto the computer. Email downloaded..one in particualr caught my eye. Let me just say that this person who I always thought so highly of & considered a great friend...really ticked me off. I was abused via email no less for not attending a class on the weekend & lieing about going camping. Well...to say I was angry would be the biggest understatement of a lifetime. I was livid!! I fired off my reply to her dribble. Jut asked what was wrong to have me so darn angry...I read the email to him. As he said in response...she must have either driven past or had someone do it for her. So what we didnt leave at the crack of dawn. We did go away. We had a ball with people who are real friends. Forget her hurtful remarks. So I have taken his advice. Forgetting her negative attitude towards me & my life. Enjoying my memories of a weekend that made me laugh so much my sides are still sore.
