..... Is about to begin for me. For those who have are not aware here is some background. For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. It all stems from the wonderful teachers I had as Guise Public School when I began. It was something that I wanted but life happens & I fell pregnant instead at 17. So I closed the door to that aspiration & continued on with my life for the next 17 years.
Fast forward to today & my venturing to look into training as a teachers aide. I was browsing Newcastle University website to look into a program called Open Foundation. I wanted to know more about it & just how you qualified etc. Imagine my surprise to find that I can undertake an intensive program starting July & ending in November....as long as I pass...I can begin attending University next year to become a Teacher! I am so happy & elated! My dream can still become a reality....it is no longer a closed door!
So I have emailed off for the application form as well as any other information so that I can jump in asap! I will have to study 10 hours per week on campus & at least 15-20 hours doing assignments etc at home. If I get in the family is in for awake up call...this is one dream I have wanted for a very long time & I would LOVE to achieve it & be the first person in my family to attend Uni & get a degree!!!!

Oh tezz.... thats awesome news and plenty of hard work coming your way. i wanted to be a teacher as well but I think i have passed that urge now but my hat goes off to you and well done for diving in shoes and all.

Go for it!!! I think these intensive courses are brilliant for the more mature lady!! Because we have done all the partying!!!
