TGIF is all I can say. Another week down here in Westmead Children's Hospital Renal Treatment Centre. We have been learning the machine this week & I have to say I am proud that Shrimpy has managed so well with it all. He is looking amazingly well for all the dialysis. His face is rounding otu & no longer looks gaunt or sallow. Though he is as cheeky as can be -- little bloody Monster!
How am I coping? Surprisingly well. Tired for certain as the days are long here in the treatment room. Now that he is on the machine for a minimum of 6 hours a day -- I find myself bored out of my head! I spend quite a bit of time reading or staring out the window...the other day I actually took myself for a walk in the gardens here -- that was lovely & the gardens are gorgeous....lots of little hideaway spots for some quiet time.
I am looking forward to tomorrow as we are seeing Lynne (kids godmother) and I have not seen her in years!!! I am desperate to see her & do the massive catch up that we will do -- a bottle of champagne will be required for sure as well as the camera!
There is not much else to report from here -- as busy as we are with all this treatment we literally get home from here have dinner & fall into bed! No time for much of anything else ..no shopping..no seeing people...god no life other then here LOL. But at the end of the day it is all worth it.....my boy is healthier without a doubt.
On that note I am off to scrounge a coffee (gotta love Starbucks here at the hospital!) then kick back for a few hours....maybe eat my yoghurt lol
