This is a post for the blog challenge over at scrapbook.com .. I am sitting here in my warm flannelette pajamas, tucked up in bed...still (recovering from migraine from hell overnight!) Sitting here thinking of how this will go.
We all make a thousand decisions each & every day but the ones that really matter seem to make an impact on our entire lives and not just on us personally...but those who love us & who are in our lives at the time.
The ones I have made that I think have turned out well -- hmmm let me see:
** The choice to keep the child I was carrying when I was a mere teenager -- in hindsight sheer & utter madness!!! BUT that said I have grown up with my children, I think I am a better person for that & it is a connection that can not be broken. Sometime later in my life I would love to be able to sit down with today's teenage mother's if even it is just to let them know that they are not alone, it is not a stupid choice (for the most part) and that it can be a very full & rewarding experience.
** The choice to move from Sydney to the Hunter Valley at the end of my first marriage....a choice I would do again as it was a stepping stone for me to become the person I am today. I have loved living here, it has been a wonderful place for my children to grow up & the surroundings are picture perfect. We made a good life here with my second husband whom I was thankful for befriending at a time when I desperately needed a friend. Our friendship grew & still remains intact, though we are parting ways as life partners.
** The choice to follow my heart when it found its perfect fit -- this is a decision that is a work in progress. It is one that I know to my very core is the right thing...it is a decision that brings me peace, soothes my soul & calms the storms that I know are ahead.
So these are the biggest decisions I have made in my life -- they are the ones that are shaping me into the woman I will become & the one I am proud to say is me!
